Back again, after a long layoff. Events: I’ll be at the Southampton Boat Show in September, and at the Isle of Wight Literary Festival on 17 and 18 October – talking about Britain and the Sea and Travels in Gulf Stream Gardens, order to be confirmed. www.isleofwightliteraryfestival.org/ . 1. We love your sailing thrillers and have even read them in german. We don’t mean to nag you, but it would be great if you could write some more. Just finished “Black Fish”.

  5. I love books and am an avid reader but could never get my husband, who loves sailing and was brought up sailing from an early age, to take an interest. He read an article you wrote sometime ago in Practical Boat Owner and asked for one of your books for Christmas. He has been hooked and has almost read all your adult books. Thank you for writing books which appeal to people who love the sea but also include adventures, mystic and thrillers all in as well. Keep writing.

  9. Sam…
Have just re-read signed copies of Maelstroem and Deadeye from Southampton Boat Show a few years back… Found myself on Amazon ordering books for sons GCSEs…. ordered business books for myself and then realized my birthday was fast approaching . As Carol had tried and failed to buy Blackfish last year, here was my opportunity. Amazon have delivered three pachages today in the last is Blackfish. It will of course have to be put back in Amazon box and held back till later in April when i can open it with great excitiment.
Happy sailing in your new boat. I am just completing redoing the headlining in our Sigma. A labour of love but worth the challenge and investment in time and patience!
    All the best Adrian

  17. Sam…my husband and I read everything of yours we can get our hands on. I am waiting patiently for the third Lyonesse book. Thank you for your wonderful tales of all kinds.

  18. Hi sam. Written to you a few times regarding my thoughts on your sea thrillers. So as you know I’m quite a fan. I’ve just finished Black Fish. Brilliant. Deadeye is still my favourite though I have to say. I still think there is a follow up to be done on that one with a new adventure for Harry and Fiona.

    Your thoughts on this?

  19. Glad you liked it. Harry and Fiona are alive and well, of course, and will be turning up, I suspect, in the book I am currently writing. But not as narrators. That is the unenviable task of Gavin Chance, who is back – a reformed character, though nobody can quite tell whether he is reformed for the better or the worse. Including him.
